The Chairman of the Asset <\/a>Recovery and Property Retrieval Taskforce (AREPT), Cllr. Edwin Kla Martin, along with Taskforce member, Atty. Suzanne Johnson paid a courtesy visit to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Richard Nagbe Koon, on Wednesday at his Capitol Building office in Monrovia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The high-level engagement was part of AREPT\u2019s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration in the national fight against corruption and the recovery of public assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting, Chairman Martin emphasized the importance of a united front in addressing economic crimes and holding accountable those responsible for the misuse of public resources. He also briefed the Speaker on the Taskforce\u2019s progress, challenges, and future plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaker Koon welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the Legislature\u2019s commitment to supporting lawful and transparent anti-corruption efforts and \u201cpromoting the President\u2019s Agenda\u201d. He stressed the need for strong inter-agency cooperation to ensure that the fight against corruption is effective, sustained, and shielded from political interference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
